Kees van Ommeren is founder and partner of Decisio. Together with his Decisio colleagues he developed the concepts of bikenomics and walkonomics, which have been applied in many different countries.
After his studies in transport and business economics he worked at the Ministry of Transport as a policy advisor on transport issues.
During this period he familiarized himself with policy processes, after which he qualified in consultancy work, first at KPMG and thereafter by creating Decisio (1997). Kees has been responsible for a large number of consultancy projects in the area of transport economics, market surveys and spatial economics.
Typical Decisio projects are social cost benefit analyses, business cases and economic impact studies. Whereas in the last couple of years Kees has worked on subjects such as sustainable transport, bicycling, investments in infrastructure and economic sectors, both in the Netherlands, Europe and other continents. Throughout his career, Kees specialized in supporting governments and regional authorities in the advancement and development of their policy strategies.
