On July 15th, the Dutch Cycling Embassy hosted a group of students from Boston's Northeastern University.

On Monday, July 15th, the Dutch Cycling Embassy hosted a group of students from Boston's Northeastern University, who were participating in the second week of a five-week study abroad program entitled “Sustainable Urban Transportation in Delft”.

Led by prominent cycling academic Peter Furth, the large group of 27 students rode their bikes to the Dutch Cycling Embassy headquarters from their home base near the Delft city centre. There, Marketing Manager Chris Bruntlett provided an overview of cycling in the Netherlands, the role of the Dutch Cycling Embassy overseas, and specific examples of North American cities attempting to transfer these policies and ideas to their context.

Following a lengthy question-and-answer session, the students hopped back on their bikes, and continued their month-long journey of drawing inspiration and knowledge from Dutch cities. We wish these students the best of luck in their challenge of applying these lessons to American cities.
