The Netherlands Embassy in Riyadh and the Royal Commission for Riyadh City visited the Dutch Cycling Embassy.

On Tuesday March 15, one representative from the Netherlands embassy in Riyadh and two representatives from the Royal Commission for Riyadh City visited the Dutch Cycling Embassy. We had a lively discussion about how the Netherlands became a cycling country and what Riyadh can learn from this. We discussed the differences between their context and the Dutch context as well, such as the weather and the mindset that is needed to opt for the bike instead of the car. The delegation mentioned very interesting projects that are being developed in Riyadh at the moment, such as their Sports Boulevard Project with lots of room for cyclists. After the discussion we went for a walk tour in the city center of Utrecht to look at the renewed Catharijnesingel, Vredenburg and the bike parking and station area at Utrecht Central Station.
